Rules Overview

  • Participants in the FFOC compete in 10-team standard snake-draft leagues.

  • On-line drafts begin in July and end at 4 PM CT on Thursday, September 4, 2008.

  • During the draft, each team owner selects 10 starters and 10 reserves.

  • The starting lineup must have:
    • 1 quarterback
    • 2 running backs
    • 3 wide receivers
    • 1 tight end
    • 1 offensive option player (QB, RB, WR, or TE)
    • 1 kicker
    • 1 defense/special team

  • Participants play each team in their league in a round robin tournament in Weeks 1 through 9 of the football season. Teams will accumulate one win or loss in each head-to-head match-up during the first nine weeks. Each team will accumulate an additional win or loss each week based on whether they finish in the top half or bottom half of the league in weekly points scored.

  • At the end of nine weeks, each team will have 18 games attributed to its record. The top two teams will play in a head-to-head match-up to determine which team goes onto the Las Vegas Bracket. The team moving onto the Las Vegas Bracket will receive $250, while the losing team will receive a free entry into the 2009 FFOC. The 2nd place through 4th place teams in each league will enter the 1st & Goal Bracket, in which the winner of the bracket following Week 16 will receive $10,000. The 5th place through 10th place teams in each league will enter the Red Zone Bracket, in which the winner of the bracket will receive $6,000.

  • Each week a percentage of teams will be cut from the Las Vegas Bracket based on points scored each week until there are 15 teams remaining in Week 16 of the football season. The teams cut from the Las Vegas Bracket will join the 1st & Goal Bracket. The winners of each bracket will be determined by the sum of three scores:
Average points Week 1 through Week 9 + Average points Week 10 through Week 15 + Week 16 points
